Welcome to Mapes Telcom. This website is full of information regarding some of my interests and useful tools for various projects. Many links to sites are on the pages here, hopefully not to many of them are dead. I will try to keep those in check. I do build PC's, video conversion from VHS to DVD, also a little web design.

My background is in telecommunications and have been involved in this field for over twenty years. I am also a licensed amateur radio operator and a avid shortwave radio listener. Foriegn broadcasts are a joy to listen to, as well as on-line broadcasts.

For many years I was involved in the local high school football program. The program was brought back by a group of dedicated parents whose children wanted to experience football. The schools last program was dismantled in the early 1900's. The existing program is funded by the boosters who collect donations. So with our continued march toward Socialism and criminal politicians running the country I have been reading. Books are a great avenue for learning something new and not relying solely on the evening news. Some folks find that reading is boring and takes to much time. This is why our Great Nation is in trouble. We are becoming uneducated idiots, looking for entitlements taken from people who work hard to secure a bit of the American dream.
